TTrovant Technology
Trovant Technology is a Spanish environmental deeptech startup founded in 2018 that develops Nidup (formerly UBI), a biological biogas upgrading technology that turns biogas from organic waste — pig slurry, the organic fraction of municipal solid waste and wastewater sludge — into biomethane, a renewable substitute for fossil natural gas. Unlike membrane-based systems it uses biological and natural processes, cutting operating costs by up to ~67% and making small- and medium-scale distributed biomethane production economically viable. It is a seed-stage, revenue-pre-commercial company accredited as an Innovative SME by Spain's Ministry of Science and Innovation, backed by EU H2020 SME Instrument/EIC Accelerator and CDTI NEOTEC funding, and is now building its first industrial demonstration plant.
