Waisense is the water-saving technology brand developed by the Málaga-based R&D engineering company Métrica6 Ingeniería y Desarrollos S.L. (founded 22 October 2013 as a University of Málaga spin-off). Its patented, retrofit IoT/home-automation system (Waisense Comfort, originally NESS) recirculates the cold water wasted while waiting for hot water, saving up to 25 litres per use and cutting household water bills by up to 52%, with additional product lines for plumbing, heating and irrigation in construction and smart-city projects. The company holds patents in 17 countries, claims 60+ million litres of water saved, partnerships with Roca, Zurich and Presto Ibérica, and UN recognition in 2021 for sustainable-cities solutions. Its HQ is in Málaga TechPark, and funding to date has come from founders, public grants (ENISA, Junta de Andalucía, EU funds) and private angels.
