MMecwins
Mecwins is a Spanish nanobiotechnology company that develops ultrasensitive protein detection technology based on nanomechanical and optoplasmonic single-molecule digital counting, sold as instruments (AVAC analyzer, SCALA) and immunoassays for oncology, cardiovascular, inflammatory and infectious disease diagnostics. Founded in 2008 as a spin-off of the Institute of Microelectronics of Madrid (IMM–CSIC) by professors Javier Tamayo and Montserrat Calleja, it is headquartered in Tres Cantos, Madrid, and operates two business lines: scientific instrumentation and medical diagnostics. It raised a €4M strategic capital increase in 2021 from CRB BIO II, Masela Inversiones and Progenika-Grifols, has taken substantial CDTI/EU public grant funding, and in September 2025 was selected as one of five Spanish companies for Almenara Capital Partners' LifeTech Innovation Fund portfolio.
