Mapex (legally Mapex Manufacturing Software Solutions, SLU) develops MES/MOM software that digitalises factory shop floors — production control, quality, maintenance (GMAO), traceability, IIoT, industrial sequencing, a Control Tower and an AI assistant called Maik. Founded in 1999 in Vic (Osona, Catalonia) with additional offices in Barcelona, Valencia and Bilbao, it is one of Spain's leading MES vendors with 500+ implementations and clients such as Borges, SPB Global, La Farga and Aciturri. It is not a VC-backed early-stage startup: it was bought in October 2018 by the search fund Transición (led by David J. Jacq) from its founder Marc Puig Esteban, and in December 2025 it was acquired by and integrated into Germany's proAlpha Group.
