Muroexe
Muroexe is a Madrid-born direct-to-consumer footwear brand founded in 2013 by Roberto Heredia and Esmeralda Martín, known for minimalist, vegan, genderless hybrid sneakers aimed at young urban professionals. It became one of Spain's best-known DTC startups, backed by JME Venture Capital and setting a Spanish record in 2019 with a €2.8M equity crowdfunding round on Crowdcube from 1,200+ investors. The company (Muro.Exe Industries SL) filed for insolvency in 2021 after COVID and its productive unit was bought by Menorcan shoe group Mascaró, which relaunched the brand with a new identity in 2023; the founders are no longer involved and it is no longer an independent startup.
