Transplant Biomedicals is a Barcelona-based medical device company and IDIBAPS/Hospital Clínic spin-off developing VIVIAN®, an ex-vivo organ preservation and transport device based on patented Hypothermic Ultrasound Preservation Technology (HUPT) that combines controlled hypothermia with low-frequency ultrasound to reduce delayed graft function and make marginal kidneys and livers usable for transplant. It raised roughly €3.5-4.2M across a 2015 seed round and a €2.5M Series A in January 2017 led by Caixa Capital Risc and Kereon Partners, and reported positive interim results from its first-in-human EMERGE kidney trial (32 patients) in 2019.
