Uu!dance
u!dance (legally u!dance Academy SL, part of the u!studio Entertainment Group) is a Spanish chain of social dance schools founded in Barcelona in November 2012, offering Cuban and line salsa, bachata, kizomba, urban and kids' classes plus social events, franchised centres and an online/virtual school app. It raised roughly €1.5M in seed-stage angel and equity-crowdfunding money (The Crowd Angel campaign in March 2015 plus family offices), reached profitability in 2014 with 1,500+ students and operated centres in Barcelona and Madrid; the business later split, with the online video/methodology arm spun out as World Mastery (backed by Inveready). Today it presents itself mainly as a consumer dance-school brand rather than an active VC-backed tech startup, with four centres in Barcelona plus one in Girona.
