Soluciones Medioambientales y Aguas, S.A. (SMA/SMASA) is a Galician environmental engineering company that designs, builds, operates and maintains compact wastewater treatment and water-reuse plants for small population centres and singular installations such as housing developments, hotel complexes and sports facilities, and also supplies water-treatment chemicals and technical assistance. Founded in 2001 and headquartered in the As Veigas de Almorzar industrial estate in Caldas de Reis (Pontevedra), it uses technologies ranging from extended aeration and MBR membranes to moving-bed, anaerobic and advanced oxidation processes, and has run R&D projects with universities and technology centres since inception. It is a small, long-established Galician SME with roughly 3 employees and €300k–600k revenue as of 2025; its capital came in the early 2000s from regional investors (Netaccede ~40%, Caixanova ~30%, Facet Ibérica ~16%) rather than from a modern venture round.
