Saveboost

Saveboost was a Barcelona-based fintech that built an automated savings app — a 'digital piggy bank' that rounded up debit-card purchases and bank transfers and set the spare change aside automatically, later adding an AI assistant to micro-invest those savings. Founded in 2016 by Thiago Monteiro (ex-UppTalk) and Jochen Doppelhammer (co-founder of Simyo Spain and UppTalk), it raised a €150,000 seed round led by PaoCapital in October 2017 and reached roughly 3,000 users saving ~€26/month on average. The company ceased operations in May–June 2018 after failing to close a planned €500k second round; it returned users' accumulated funds and shut the service down.
