Suop is a Spanish MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) that runs on Orange's network and markets itself as the country's first 'collaborative' operator, where customers earn credit by helping other users in its community forum and by proposing tariffs and product ideas. Founded in Madrid in 2013 by telecom consultant Jaime Pla Escudero and launched commercially in December 2013, it has expanded from low-cost mobile plans into fiber, eSIM and energy bundles. It is a small, capital-efficient seed-stage company (roughly €400k of friends-family funding plus a €125k round from Cabiedes & Partners and an ENISA convertible loan) that grew mainly from operations, and it absorbed Media Markt's Simly Móvil customer base in 2016.
