Socilen was a Spanish crowdlending (P2P/P2B lending) marketplace that connected individuals, freelancers and SMEs seeking loans with retail investors who could invest from €20, and was authorised by the CNMV as a Plataforma de Financiación Participativa (registry no. 9) from October 2016. Founded in 2014 by Álvaro Castrejana, Aitor Ruiz de Alegría and Javier Quetglas, it operated from Madrid with an office in Logroño (La Rioja) and channelled roughly €3.5M+ across ~138 SME projects by 2021, later reporting 200+ projects and average returns near 10.8%. Socilen no longer exists as an independent company: SOCILEN PFP, S.L. was deregistered from the CNMV on 13 November 2023 (it did not adapt to the EU ECSP regulation) and in January 2024 merged into Valencia-based Colectual under the brand 'Colectual Socilen' (colectual.com), which now administers the legacy loan book.
