The Thinklab
The Thinklab is a Spanish film production company and animation studio that produces 3D animated and live-action feature films, series and documentaries, plus VFX and advertising work. Founded in 2006 in Madrid by director Julio Soto Gúrpide and partners, it later relocated to Navarre and now bases its studio in Bilbao; its credits include Deep (2017), the Disney Channel series Fluffs, Inspector Sun and the Curse of the Black Widow (2022) and Evolution (theatrical release Spring 2026). It is not a VC-backed tech startup but an established audiovisual production company financed through film co-productions, broadcasters and regional tax incentives.
