Huercasa is a Spanish agri-food company that grows, processes and markets ready-to-eat "fifth-range" vegetables — steam-cooked, vacuum-packed sweet corn on the cob, red beetroot, potatoes, sweet potatoes, legumes and rice — for retail and foodservice in more than 35 countries. Founded in 1979 in Sanchonuño (Segovia) as an endive grower, it became a pioneer of fifth-range technology in Spain and is today a European leader in sweetcorn on the cob and beetroot, with plants in Sanchonuño and San Miguel del Arroyo (Valladolid), a Romanian operation, an innovation centre ("La Cocina de Ideas") and a €20m sweetcorn factory due for completion in 2027. It is not a venture-backed startup but a ~45-year-old family-owned food manufacturer (Moracho family).
