Joyners

Joyners was a Spanish on-demand home-care marketplace (legal entity Envejecer Bien SL, later Ageing Well SL) that let families book vetted professional caregivers for elderly or dependent people via an app, promising a caregiver at the door in under an hour, with a later B2B/corporate line serving clients such as Ritz-Carlton and Holaluz. Founded in Barcelona in 2014, it operated in Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia and Zaragoza, expanded to Paris in 2018, raised roughly €1.5M from seed investors and accelerators, and claimed a network of over 1,000 socio-health professionals. The company is defunct: it filed for concurso de acreedores in January 2021, was liquidated in September 2021 and formally extinguished. Founders Oriol de Pablo and Xavi Esteve went on to co-found the burger chain VICIO. The TSJC later ruled the company had employed 104 caregivers as false self-employed workers.
