Lentitech
Lentitech is a Barakaldo-based optical technology company that develops systems for measuring and designing personalised progressive lenses for opticians and optometrists. Its main product, ErgoFocus, is a patented system that combines a device capturing the wearer's facial and optical parameters, software that interprets the data, and proprietary algorithms to design fully personalised progressive lenses; it also developed the ErgoRep and ErgoFocus Vision PLUS centring systems. The company was founded in 2017 by optometrist Julio Villaverde and Juan Carlos Calvo. It funded its R&D with around €2 million of its own investment and a European Commission SME Instrument Phase 1 grant in 2019, and it won Barakaldo's BKenpreSariak innovation award in 2023. Lentitech filed for insolvency in 2025 and went into liquidation in January 2026.
