UOBO (legal entity Ouvo Plant Based S.L., originally launched under the brand name Ouvo before rebranding) is a Barcelona-based foodtech startup making a 100% plant-based liquid egg, billed as Europe's first ready-to-cook beaten vegan egg, formulated from canola and potato protein for omelettes, scrambled eggs and baking. Founded in 2021 by Narcís Fors and Sergi Mainar, it is a small seed-stage team (roughly 2-10 people) selling into HORECA/food service with distribution across 60+ points of sale in Spain, and is moving toward B2B egg-replacer ingredients. It has raised roughly €680-730K in total: a €181K pre-seed from business angels and a VC fund (plus a €156K ENISA innovation loan) and a €500K seed round in October 2024 led by Enzo Ventures, alongside a strategic co-development partnership with Cubiq Foods.
