GGravity Wave
Gravity Wave is a Calpe-based circular-economy company that works with traditional fishermen to recover plastic waste and discarded fishing nets from the sea and turn them into recycled raw materials and products, including its Gravitec material, furniture, signage and stadium seating. Its network connects more than 7,000 fishermen in ports across Spain, Italy, Greece and Egypt with over 200 companies that pay for sea clean-up and buy recycled materials for the automotive, packaging, cosmetics and retail sectors. Blockchain is used to certify the environmental impact. The company has recovered around 1.4 million kg of plastic, about 60% of its revenue comes from recurring customer contracts, and it reached breakeven in Q4 2025. Siblings Amaia and Julen Rodríguez founded Gravity Wave in 2019. It has been financed by business angels, led by Pau and Marc Gasol in a €500,000 round in early 2024, together with ENISA loans and a €281,000 grant from Spain's Circular Economy PERTE programme.
