GGenbioma Aplicaciones
Genbioma is a Noáin (Navarra)-based biotechnology company that develops probiotics and postbiotics to support metabolic health, including glucose regulation in prediabetes, type 2 diabetes and obesity. Its main products are pA1c®, a patented Pediococcus acidilactici probiotic strain, and pA1c®HI, a heat-inactivated postbiotic version. It sells them as ingredients for food, beverage and nutraceutical makers and as finished supplements under the Reglubetic® brand. A 12-week placebo-controlled pilot study showed reductions in HbA1c, body weight and fat mass. A larger trial in type 2 diabetes is under way, and a postbiotic for cholesterol is in development. The company has signed commercial agreements across the Middle East and the Balkans. Genbioma was founded in 2019 as a spin-off of the Universidad Pública de Navarra (UPNA). Clave Capital led a €400,000 round through its Navarra Tech Transfer and UN I+D+i Tech Transfer funds. In 2025 it raised another €525,000 from Clave Capital and the women investors' network WA4STEAM.
