Bedrock Intelligence is a Gijón-based strategy consultancy built on data science. Branded as Bedrock Data by Design and later as Bedrock Humanised Intelligence, it helps companies solve operational and business problems with design thinking, advanced analytics and artificial intelligence, delivered as consulting and implementation projects. Alex Lawton founded it in 2019. Its global base was at the La Pipa hub in Gijón, and it also had offices in Madrid, Barcelona and London. In January 2021 the Sociedad Regional de Promoción del Principado de Asturias (SRP) invested €600,000 through a participatory loan. That backed a planned €1.4 million investment in Gijón and 24 highly skilled jobs over two years. The company has since entered liquidation.
