Flaps

Nuclia, originally launched as Flaps, is a Barcelona-based AI search company founded in 2019 by Eudald Camprubí and Ramon Navarro. It started as a B2B search engine for a company's internal knowledge that connects to its data sources and indexes and classifies documents in any language. It later became a low-code API and RAG-as-a-service platform for building multilingual semantic search and generative AI answers over audio, video, documents and text, and it built the open-source vector database NucliaDB. Flaps raised a €400k round led by Elaia in 2021, and in April 2022 the company raised a seed round of about €5M ($5.4M) co-led by Crane Venture Partners and Elaia. Progress Software acquired it in June 2025.
