MainRail Solutions

MainRail is a Pamplona-based company that builds software to digitalise the maintenance of railway infrastructure. Its customisable platform, MainRailMT, manages both predictive and corrective maintenance, and it uses digital twins and AI to predict risks such as track buckling in high summer temperatures. Customers include the Spanish rail infrastructure manager ADIF and Basque rail operator ETS. The software has been deployed on more than 3,200 km of track, and the company says it can cut maintenance costs by up to 25%. MainRail was founded in 2020 as a spin-off of CEIT, a technology centre linked to the University of Navarra, with support from Inycom. It raised about €1.95M in total: a €1.1M round in 2021 backed by CDTI and Clave, and an €854K round in 2024 from Sodena, Clave's UN I+D+i Tech Transfer fund and CDTI's Innvierte programme. The company entered voluntary insolvency proceedings in February 2025 and is in liquidation.
