GameSquare

Geek.live, formerly GameSquare and GeekSquare, is a Barcelona-based live-shopping marketplace where users and specialist shops buy and sell collectibles such as Funko Pops, Pokémon and Magic cards, sports cards, video games, vintage fashion and sneakers through live video auctions. It launched in 2021 as the GameSquare app, a marketplace for second-hand video games and gaming products. It later moved into collectibles and live shopping and now runs in Spain on web and mobile. It makes money from a commission of about 7% on each transaction. By early 2022 it had about 2,000 transacting users and managed inventory for around 30 partner stores across Spain. In November 2021 it raised a €100,000 round on Startupxplore, which filled in under 24 hours at 125% of its target, from more than 50 investors, including the gaming-focused fund Awin Capital and business angels such as David Boronat, Sacha Fuentes, Juan J. Mostazo, Rat Gasol and Ramon Ollé.
