Codee, formerly known as Appentra, develops static code analysis and formatting tools for developers who write high-performance simulation software in Fortran, C and C++. Its Codee Analyzer finds correctness, security, modernisation, portability and optimisation issues and suggests automated fixes, while Codee Formatter standardises Fortran code; both integrate with major compilers, IDEs and CI/CD pipelines, and the company sells them on a freemium model with paid subscription tiers. Its users include HPC centres, research labs and engineering teams in climate, aerospace, automotive, energy and defence, such as Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The company was founded in 2012 as a spin-off of the University of A Coruña and is based in A Coruña. It raised a €400K early round, a €1.8M round in 2020 co-led by Armilar Venture Partners and K Fund, and a €5M Series A in 2023 led by Swanlaab Venture Factory, with Caixa Capital Risc, Xesgalicia and Unirisco also backing it.
