Reforestum
Reforestum is a Valladolid-based climate-tech company that runs a marketplace for forest-based carbon offsets. Companies and individuals use it to fund reforestation and forest-conservation projects, buy carbon credits and track their offset portfolios. Its monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) tools use AI analysis of satellite and radar imagery to track projects in near real time. The company was founded in 2017 and has taken part in Microsoft's AI for Earth programme and L'Oréal's accelerator at Station F. It was a joint winner of the World Economic Forum's Trillion Tree Challenge, and Adidas group's padel division was an early customer. It has raised about $915K across angel and seed rounds, including a €750k round in December 2020 from 13 angel investors in France, the UK and Spain (among them Guillaume Houzé, Jean-Marc Armitano and Florian Bressand), and backing from Ship2B.
