BuyVIP was a Madrid-founded private shopping club that ran time-limited flash-sale campaigns for fashion and lifestyle brands across Europe, reaching about 6-8 million registered members in seven countries by 2010. Amazon acquired the company in October 2010 for roughly $95-100M; it operated as an Amazon subsidiary before being shut down permanently in May 2017, so it is now defunct.
