Ticketbis
Ticketbis was a Spanish online secondary-ticketing marketplace where fans bought and sold tickets to sports, music and theatre events, operating in roughly 45-50 countries across Europe, Latin America and Asia. Founded in Bilbao in 2009 by ex-Morgan Stanley bankers Jon Uriarte and Ander Michelena, it grew to ~400 employees and around €100M in transaction volume before eBay acquired it in May 2016 for approximately $165M and folded it into StubHub. The company no longer exists as an independent firm — all operations were absorbed into StubHub; both founders now run Bilbao-based VC firm Acurio Ventures (formerly All Iron Ventures).
