VVinus & Brindis
Vinus & Brindis is a Spanish chain of "urban wine cellars" (vinotecas) retailing wines and spirits, positioned as the country's first specialised wine-shop chain, with a focus on quality-price ratio and a large selection under €10. Founded as a family business in Barcelona, it grew through owned and franchised stores across Barcelona, Girona, Madrid, Palma de Mallorca and Vigo, including a Madrid location at the ABC Serrano shopping centre. It is not a technology startup but a long-established (2003) bricks-and-mortar wine retail/franchise business; its only recorded institutional investment dates from around 2004, and founder Santiago Peribáñez left after roughly ten years to launch the gourmet sangria brand La Prodigiosa in 2013.
