Groopify

·Madrid ·Seed

Groopify was a Madrid-founded (2013) social discovery/group-dating app that matched two groups of friends who didn't know each other for real-world meetups (drinks/venues), reaching roughly 250,000 users across 40 cities in 8 countries. It raised about €1M-1.3M from Spanish angels and funds but failed to close a Series A; in December 2016 it shut down as a standalone company via an acqui-hire, with part of the team joining Singapore-based dating app Paktor. The firm is defunct.
