Restaurantes.com is a Spanish online restaurant discovery and table-booking platform, letting diners search restaurants, read reviews, access discounts and reserve tables, while giving restaurants an occupancy and reservation-management tool. Founded in Madrid in 2009 by Antonio Fernandez Ruiz and Jesus Alonso Gallo, it grew to around 5,000 restaurant clients in Spain and roughly 200 in Mexico, and over 1 million diners generating more than €21M a year for its restaurant partners. It is no longer an independent startup: it was acquired in September 2015 by rival Restalo (backed by Active Venture Partners and Seaya Ventures), which adopted the Restaurantes.com brand, and the combined company was then bought by the Michelin Group (announced December 2016, completed 2019) and folded into Michelin's booking business alongside Bookatable.
