Up Devices (legal name Up Devices and Technologies S.L.) is a small Madrid-based engineering firm that designs and develops patient-centred medical devices and IoT/electromechanical products, working alongside hospitals, pharma companies and patient associations. Its services span mechanical and electronic design, sensors, rapid prototyping (Arduino to industrial pre-series), additive manufacturing and CE-marking technical documentation; flagship projects include OstoCutter (an automatic ostomy-disc cutter developed with Hospital La Paz, Madrid), DocVoc (breath gas sensors for respiratory disease) and DiLuBio (a biocompatible light diffuser for photodynamic therapy). It is a micro-company (2-10 employees) rather than a VC-backed startup, and co-founder Alfredo Azabal is now CTO at Ownmed Innovation.
