Privalia
Privalia is a Spanish online private shopping club (flash-sales outlet) that sells discounted fashion, footwear, sports, home, beauty and travel products to registered members through time-limited daily campaigns. Founded in Barcelona in 2006 by Lucas Carné and José Manuel Villanueva, it raised over €200M from Spanish, European and US investors and expanded to Italy, Brazil and Mexico before being acquired by French group vente-privee (now Veepee) in April 2016 for a reported ~€500M. Privalia is no longer an independent startup: it operates as a consumer brand of Veepee, its founders left in 2016 (both now run Barcelona proptech 011h), and its Spanish operations are Barcelona-based.
