PPentabiol
Pentabiol is a Navarre-based biotech company that researches, manufactures and sells postbiotics — fermented feed additives (its flagship product line is Probisan) that improve animal digestive function and immunity, allowing livestock producers to drastically cut preventive antibiotic use. It emerged around 2013-2014 as a spin-off of a family animal-nutrition business active since 1973, holds GMP+ certification, and won a ~€1.3M Horizon 2020 SME Instrument grant plus a €550k participatory loan from regional public investor Sodena (since repaid). It is a revenue-generating industrial SME (roughly 11-50 employees, ~€2-3M sales) exporting to Morocco, Mexico, Portugal and the Netherlands, and has spun out companies including Genbioma Aplicaciones. It is headquartered in Esquíroz/Noáin, Navarra, and is not a VC-backed equity startup.
