Orain's first institutional round totalled €1M led by Barcelona VC Nero Ventures alongside unnamed Spanish business angels; it was raised in two tranches, an initial €300k announced on 2017-12-15 and a further €700k completed by February 2018, when the full €1M close was reported. Only the month of the final announcement is documented, so the day is unknown; funds went to product development, consolidating Spain and starting international expansion of its Bluetooth/app payment system for vending and coffee machines.
