A public-private consortium formed by CONNECTA Therapeutics, the CRG, the Hospital del Mar Research Institute and I3PT was awarded €2.7 million by Spain's Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities under the EU Next Generation programme to start Phase IIa trials of CTH120 for Fragile X syndrome. This is a competitive public grant rather than an equity round; CONNECTA's private backers are Prous Institute for Biomedical Research, Inveready and CDTI Innvierte.
