Barcelona-based Y Combinator alum SolarMente, which sells rooftop solar on a subscription model with no upfront cost, announced that actor Leonardo DiCaprio had come in as a new strategic investor — reported as his first direct investment in a Spanish company. The amount was not disclosed and the deal was presented as an investor joining rather than a formally labelled round; SolarMente had previously secured a €50M SPV financing agreement with GNE Finance in 2023 and said it was preparing a further raise.
