Robopedics is a Barcelona-based medtech/robotics startup developing AWAKE, described as the world's first personal-use robotic orthopedic solution as an alternative to exoskeletons, letting stroke survivors with hemiplegia stand up from a wheelchair and walk daily at home without medical supervision. Founded in 2021 by industrial engineer Iván Martínez after his father's stroke, the device weighs around 6 kg and targets a price under €15,000, with commercialisation planned from mid-2026. The company is at seed stage, having raised a €1.01M equity crowdfunding round via Capital Cell in 2025 and a ~$2.2M seed round in March 2026 backed by Mondragon and Spain's state tech-transformation vehicle SETT; it is HQ'd in El Prat de Llobregat (Barcelona).
