Camelina Company España is Europe's leading producer and innovator of camelina, a sustainable non-food oilseed crop grown on fallow land, supplying camelina oil (used as feedstock for sustainable aviation fuel and biodiesel) and camelina meal (a plant-based protein for animal feed). Founded in Madrid in 2010, it holds over a decade of proprietary IP in camelina breeding and agronomy and operates an innovation center in Daimiel, Spain. It was acquired in December 2021 by Global Clean Energy Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: GCEH) for roughly $8.24M and now operates as GCEH's European camelina subsidiary, so it is no longer independently VC-backed.
