Nubelo

Nubelo was a Barcelona-based online marketplace for freelance services connecting companies with freelance developers, designers, marketers and other digital professionals across Spain and Latin America, monetising via a 5-10% commission on closed projects. Founded around 2011-2012, it raised roughly €4-5M from Spanish and LatAm VCs and grew to ~1M users and ~50 employees with offices in Barcelona, Buenos Aires, Bogotá and São Paulo, becoming the largest Spanish-language freelance marketplace after Freelancer.com. It is no longer an operating independent company — it was acquired by Australia's Freelancer.com in December 2016 and folded into freelancer.es — though its founders remain active in the Spanish startup ecosystem.
