Virmedex (Virmedex Virtual Experiences SL) builds gamified simulators, video games, VR and AI tools for training high-performance healthcare professionals, with flagship products virCPB (cardiopulmonary bypass training), virECMO (ECMO training) and Dex, an AI chatbot for perfusionists. It is a women-founded and women-led deep-tech spin-off of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (CREB/UPC) and the Universitat de Barcelona, created in 2022 and headquartered in Barcelona. It won the Barcelona City Prize for applied innovation, sells subscriptions in Europe, Latin America and the US, raised a €150K first round from Grow Venture Partners and has said it is preparing a second round for mid-2026.
