Tesai Care is a Barcelona-based medtech startup developing heecap, a non-invasive transcutaneous electrostimulation device (TERM) that activates the inspiratory and expiratory muscles in sync with a patient's breathing to prevent and treat respiratory muscle atrophy in mechanically ventilated ICU patients. A deeptech spin-off of Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) and Parc Taulí's I3PT, it raised a ~€2.8M seed round in December 2024 led by Nara Capital and is running clinical validation (NCT07363902) with the aim of obtaining CE marking as a medical device. It is headquartered in Barcelona (Pier07, Via Laietana 26).
