SUSPOL Polímeros Sostenibles is a deeptech spin-off of Spain's Universidad de Alcalá (UAH) that commercialises patented catalyst and reversible (de)polymerisation technology to produce bio-based, biodegradable plastics and to chemically recycle polyesters and polycarbonates back into raw materials. Its flagship material FLEXsus aims to match conventional plastics on price and performance, and its FlowPLA process claims continuous PLA synthesis and recycling in about a minute at room temperature with ~50% lower production costs. Pre-seed stage: incorporated in December 2022, ~6 people, winner of Grow Venture Partners' getIMPULSE 2022 programme (c. €100K investment), holder of an exclusive UAH patent licence and a CDTI NEOTEC grant.
