NNeuroelectrics
Neuroelectrics is a Barcelona-based digital brain health company, with a US office in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It develops non-invasive brain monitoring and stimulation technology, including the Enobio wireless EEG and Starstim transcranial current stimulation (tDCS/tACS/tRNS) systems. It pairs these devices with software, modelling and research services for personalised neuromodulation. Its customers are research institutions and clinicians, and it is running clinical programmes in drug-resistant epilepsy and major depressive disorder. The epilepsy programme has received FDA Breakthrough Device Designation, and a cloud-based platform lets patients receive treatment at home. The company was founded in 2011 by Ana Maiques and Giulio Ruffini as a spin-off of Starlab. In 2021 it raised a $17.5M Series A led by Morningside Ventures.
