Backspin Games
Backspin Games, formerly eGoGames, is a Madrid-based developer of a mobile skill-gaming and esports platform. Players compete in real-time tournaments of classic casual games such as pool and solitaire, playing for free or for cash prizes, and a patented algorithm matches players by skill. The company started by building competitive-gaming integrations for game studios and branded games, then moved to its own titles. It has over one million registered users in more than 100 countries, about 70% of them in the United States and Canada, and reported around €6 million in revenue for 2024. Founded in 2017 by Alejandro Sáez Novales and Baldomero Sánchez, it raised €350k from private investors in 2018 and about $3.3M from angel investors in 2020, including Donato González, Francisco Riberas and Jaime Martín Laborda. In November 2021 it closed a €5 million round led by Green Mont Fund, GTAK Capital and The Kerving Group, with Carlos Sainz also taking part.
