Grupo Sego Finance is a Madrid-based fintech that runs a digital platform for alternative investments. It gives retail and institutional investors access to unlisted asset classes: equity crowdfunding in start-ups (SEGO Venture), invoice factoring loans to established companies (SEGO Factoring, formerly Emprestamo), real-estate crowdlending (SEGO Real Estate) and automated index and thematic fund portfolios (SEGO Funds, formerly Fintup, acquired in 2021). It operates under the European Crowdfunding Service Providers (ECSP) regulation and reports more than 45,000 active investors, over €350 million in alternative investments under management and more than €200 million returned to investors. The business started in 2011, when Javier Villaseca founded the start-up investment platform SociosInversores.com, and it was brought together under the SEGO Finance group in 2016. The group raised about €1.5 million in 2020 in a round led by GVC Gaesco, followed in 2021 by a round of more than €1 million from GVC Gaesco, Angels (Juan Roig's investment company) and JA Consult Holding (owner of Picaval).
