WWoonivers
Woonivers is a Madrid-based fintech company that runs a fully digital tax-free shopping platform. Non-EU travellers use its mobile app to claim VAT refunds on purchases, and it gives retailers a tax-free service that helps them attract more tourist sales. It also works with governments on digital tourism tax-refund solutions. The app was approved by the Spanish Tax Agency, and the company is licensed to operate in Spain, France, Italy, Portugal and Belgium. Abel Navajas and Antonio Cantalapiedra founded Woonivers in 2018; Cantalapiedra was previously co-founder and CEO of mytaxi. The company raised a €1.6M round led by OneRagtime, with Encomenda Smart Capital, Mexican private investors and public capital taking part, and it received CDTI funding. In January 2023 the payments company Sipay acquired 75% of Woonivers Spain.
