Akisei Studios is a Valencia-based developer of serious games that train socio-emotional skills in adolescents and help prevent mental health problems. Its AI-based platform, led by the space-adventure game AKISEI Space, targets young people aged 11 to 16 and is grounded in emotional intelligence models. The platform is designed as a preventive tool that spots at-risk young people and supports early referral to professionals. It grew out of six years of research, including the EmoTIC project, which tested the platform with about 2,000 adolescents and 500 teachers across Spain. The company was founded in July 2024 as a spin-off of the Universitat Politècnica de València's ai2 Institute with support from the IDEAS UPV entrepreneurship programme, and it won the Valencia Innovation Capital Award for the best video game and entertainment project.
