AYRO Solutions is a Barcelona-based start-up that develops respiratory protection for workers in heavy industry. Its product, NASO-SHIELD, is a reusable filter worn inside the nose that captures harmful particles and gases while leaving the face and mouth uncovered and working alongside standard PPE. It has a reusable body with replaceable filters and is aimed at sectors such as steel, mining and chemicals. The company was founded in 2025 by engineers from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) ecosystem and is at pre-seed stage. It has signed letters of intent with six industrial partners and was a finalist in the Fundació Caixa Enginyers Awards.
