PlayGiga was a Madrid-based cloud gaming company founded in 2013 that built a B2B "gaming-as-a-service" platform, letting telcos, ISPs and media companies stream console-quality AAA games to TVs, PCs, tablets and phones (it ran services in Spain, Italy, Argentina and Chile and signed deals with 60+ publishers including SEGA, Square Enix, Capcom and Disney). It raised a €5M Series A in 2015 from Adara Ventures, Caixa Capital Risc, Inveready and Bankinter, bringing total funding to over €6M, and later worked with Intel's Visual Cloud platform on 5G game streaming. PlayGiga no longer exists as an independent company — Facebook (Meta) acquired it in December 2019 for roughly €70M/$78M and the team was absorbed into Facebook Gaming.
