Oscillum, a biotech startup at the Miguel Hernández University science park developing SmartLabel — a compostable smart label whose chemical sensors change colour to show food spoilage — secured €1.5M from Spain's CDTI under its 'Ayudas PYMES Sello de Excelencia' programme. This is non-dilutive public grant funding rather than an equity venture round, and will fund certification, industrialisation and expansion of the label to fruit.
