Oscillum
Oscillum is a Spanish biotechnology startup that develops intelligent biosensors and smart labels for the food, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries. Its flagship Addvibe® smart label is embedded in a biodegradable polymer matrix that changes colour when it detects the bacterial compounds released as food spoils, giving real-time freshness information to cut food waste; a second line, Stiint®, is an active packaging additive that extends shelf life. Founded in 2019 in Elche (Alicante) by three biotechnology graduates of Universidad Miguel Hernández, the company is seed-stage, has raised roughly €1.5M backed largely by Spain's CDTI, and its three founders were named to the Forbes '30 under 30' Spain list.
